Raising our Expectations: Practical Actions for a Better Academia
At the interactive lecture, Dr. Roberta Hawkins will present her book Higher Expectations: How to Survive Academia, Make It Better for Others, and Transform the University and discusses best practices in the areas of "collaboration, moving beyond metrics, dismantling hierarchies, centering the margins and staying whole/improving work-life balance".
The lecture will be held in English. The event will take place on 19 November, 14.15-16.00 at the University of Bern (GIUB, Hallerstrasse 12) in room 002. The event is open to the public; no registration is required
Lunchtalk
The Commission for Diversity and Equal Opportunities would like to invite all mid-level staff to a lunch talk with Prof. Leila Tarokh. Prof. Leila Tarokh will discuss questions on the topic ‘Women and Minorities Encouraged to Apply: Practical Steps to Breaking Barriers’.
The lunchtalk will be in English and take place on Thursday, 21 November 2024, from 12.30 to approx. 14.00 at Fabrikstr. 8. Lunch will be provided. Please register by 31 October 2024 at noemi.walder@unibe.ch.
